What Is Orthopedic Urgent Care?
There are significant differences between orthopedic and regular urgent care. Orthopedic urgent care doctors are specially trained to diagnose and treat injuries and conditions of the musculoskeletal system. If you’re in need of fast, direct orthopedic care for a serious injury or chronic condition, your best bet is to speak with an orthopedic and sports medicine professional. Rather than enduring a long wait time behind people with head colds and other non-orthopedic conditions, you can be seen much more quickly at an orthopedic walk-in clinic.
Common injuries that may require urgent orthopedic care could include the following:
- Dislocated joints
- Broken or fractured bones
- Tendon injuries
- Sprained ligaments
- Torn ligaments
- Neck pain
- Back pain
- Sports injuries
- Swollen or painful joints
- Various other musculoskeletal problems
While some of these orthopedic injuries typically send patients to the emergency room or urgent care facility, there are many benefits to seeking orthopedic care from fellowship-trained physicians specializing in orthopedic care.
Insurances Accepted
Our orthopedic specialists are in-network for all major insurance plans. We also offer cash pricing options for those without insurance or for those who do not wish to file a claim with their insurance providers.
We currently accept the following insurance providers:
- Aetna
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Cigna
- United Healthcare
*We accept most insurance plans. If you do not see your insurance provider on the list or if you have any questions, please call our office for additional information. We are no longer accepting new Medicare patients, or cases.
Why Should I Come to SPORT Orthopedics + Physical Therapy’s Urgent Care Facility?
At SPORT Orthopedics + Physical Therapy, we aim to provide a safe, convenient space for patients with orthopedic injuries. Whether this is your initial visit, or if you’ve seen us before, you’ll be treated with the same care and attention regardless of whether you make an appointment. Our sports medicine and orthopedic specialists are highly skilled, with decades of experience on their side.
The services we offer at SPORT will save you both time and money so you can get back to your active lifestyle as quickly as possible. Below, we outline some of the services we provide at our direct orthopedic care facility.
Walk-ins are welcome, and there’s no appointment required.
Regular Urgent Care vs Orthopedic Urgent Care
Although you could go to a traditional urgent care clinic for an orthopedic injury, seeing a direct orthopedic care specialist is preferable for a few reasons. Firstly, urgent care centers are often located in strip malls and locations with several other businesses attached. Once they evaluate their patients, they may recommend getting a second opinion from another doctor or specialist. At orthopedic care centers, however, we can diagnose and treat your injuries at our walk-in clinic. Our facility is equipped with all the medical technology and diagnostic equipment needed to meet all of your needs in one location.
A regular urgent care clinic may be able to treat certain musculoskeletal conditions, but only a trained orthopedic specialist can properly evaluate and care for chronic and acute conditions. Additionally, an orthopedic clinic will ONLY treat orthopedic conditions, which will significantly cut down on your wait time as a patient.
What’s more is that, rather than seeing a doctor who advised physical therapy but cannot offer it, our team offers diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation all under one roof. Once we identify the source of your pain, we will craft a personalized treatment plan that meets your needs. This also means that we won’t refer you out to an orthopedic specialist. We are the specialists.
Schedule Your Urgent Orthopedic Care Appointment Today
At SPORT Orthopedics + Physical Therapy, we understand how frustrating it can be to feel like you have few options when it comes to the treatment of your injuries. However, we believe in transparent, affordable, and convenient care for patients with orthopedic injuries. If you have suffered one of the many injuries or conditions we treat, don’t hesitate to give us a call or pay our clinic a visit.
Walk-ins are welcome, but if you’d like to schedule a same-day appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, you can do so by calling (469) 200-2832 or scheduling online.
